Dragon’s Tail Couloir

Before leaving Boulder for Toronto, we found time for one last mountaineering trip.  The winter’s abundant snow fall and cooler spring temperatures meant that Dragon’s Tail Couloir on Flattop Mountain in Rocky Mountain National Park was still in.  And this climb was on the list.  We met Chris, who when not running is out usual climbing partner, at our place and were hiking around 4:00 am.  The snow conditions were perfect, and we were above an overcast Boulder and Denver.  It was an amazing climb with awesome company;  we are definitely going to miss outings like this.
