South African Safari

In September 2007, we traveled over 9,000 miles from Boulder to South Africa with our friend, Annaleen, a native South African who has lived in the US for 20 years.  We flew into Johannesburg where we were joined by Sheryl and Sarah from Seattle and Sheila from Belize.  The next morning our tour guide, Wim, picked us up and we were on our way!  Briefly, our itinerary was:  Kruger National Park, Swaziland, Hlane Game Reserve, Ponta du Oura in Mozambique, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park, and the St. Lucia Estuary.  The last day before our flight back home, we toured the Starkfontein Cave in the Cradle of Humankind.  This was an amazing, once-in-a-life time trip and we can’t wait to go back to discover more of this beautiful country (and continent!).
